A Teacher And 4 Students Arrested For Cultivating Wee
The Forestry Commission of Ghana has taken five people into custody, including a teacher from a senior high school, on suspicion that they were cultivating cann@bis in a forest reserve. A teacher from a secondary school and four others were arrested for cultivating m@rijuana in a forest reserve.

Cann@bis cultivation for profit is currently illegal.

Michael Anakpo, a teacher at Donkorkrom Agric Senior High School who is said to be the leader of the group, and his accomplices were arrested while they were in the approximately 80 hectares cann@bis farm inside the forest in the Afram Plains North District. The forest is located in the afram plains north district.
Blewu Nomenyo, Korsi Mawuena, Charles Kale, and Emmanuel Kojo are the other people under suspicion in this case.
The Forestry Commission revealed that more than ten other suspects were encountered on the cann@bis farm; nevertheless, they were able to flee after an attempt was made on the lives of forestry officers.
“The suspects resisted and tried to sl@ughter the forestry officials with m@chetes,” but some of the forest guards who had staged an ambu$h in portions of the forest emerged and pursued the suspects, ultimately resulting in the arrest of five of them.
The Forestry operation team, lead by the District Forestry Manager Richard Amoateng, recovered a number of items, including cutl@sses, cann@bis-laced vodk@, five plastic water containers full with harvested cann@bis, three large sacks, and six smaller sacks of cannabis. Michael Anakpo, the ringleader of the group, is a teacher at Donkorkrom Agriculture Senior High School. The authorities have received the suspects who were turned over to them. According to a report by Osofoba Enock, a journalist at Nkawkaw, the operation team was able to recover cutl@sses, five barrel containers full with h@rvested cann@bis, three large bags of h@shish, and six smaller sacks of cann@bis.
The accused had also cultivated a large number of cann@bis seedlings that were going to be planted. The group found that the farm had approximately 13 tents for them to stay in while they were there. The Cann@bis Farm is about to become the target of an invasion and destruction by the Forestry Commission.
