The decision of the university to terminate Dr. Boadu’s employment is detailed in a letter dated January 9, 2023 and sent to him. In addition to this, Dr. Boadu was given the order to “cease parading himself as a staff member of the University.”
You are also forced to return all of the salary and allowances that you illegally withdrew from the university between the months of December 2021 and December 2022 to the C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences GCB Bank Account number: 9021130002211. “You are also required to return all of the salaries and allowances that you fraudulently withdrew from the university.”
“The amount of money that you are expected to return is Two hundred and thirty-one thousand, One Hundred and Eighty-two Ghana Cedis, Sixty-Four Pesewas (GH231,182.64). “You have the option of submitting a payment plan to cover the full amount paid to you to the Director of Finance no later than January 15, 2023,” the university’s registrar, Dr. V.A. Ankamah Lomotey, wrote to the student. “The plan must cover the amount in full.”
The Governing Council of the University of Ghana, represented by its Chairman, Professor Gordon A. Awandare, communicated to the Ghana Tertiary Education Council (GTEC) that the Bachelor of Laws and Master of Public Administration diplomas that Dr. Michael Boadu claimed to have earned from the University of Ghana were not legitimate. This was in response to a petition that had been submitted to GTEC by a man named Joseph Weguri, who lives in Navrongo. Weguri claimed that Dr. Boadu lacked the necessary credentials to work for the university. University Sacks Senior Member Over Fake Certificates
Michael Adusei Boadu was unable to hand over the certificates until the latter half of the previous year, at which point he did so to the Vice-Chancellor. A few weeks later, the Appointments and Promotions Board held a meeting, and at that meeting, they invited him to personally present the certificates. Following the inspection of the certificates, this is when questions were first raised about the legitimacy of the documents.
Prof. Gordon A. Awandare stated to the Commission that he had requested verification of his LLB and Master of Public Administration qualifications from the University of Ghana. The verification process indicated that the certificates in question were forged. University Sacks Senior Member Over Fake Certificates
