The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Nurse Manager. The Deputy Nurse Manager’s primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Ensure allocation of roles and coverage for the different shifts and activity level in the facility
• Provide leadership for the nursing team in the department

• Champion for infection control within the clinic
• Ensure monthly infection control audits of the clinic
• Responsible for nurse team training and development
• Ensure monthly audits of nursing notes documentation

• To allocate specific roles within the facility to nurses and ensure that all requirements of the service are undertaken and completed
• Allocating roles to ensure it covers all patient care areas, optimal use of the health care professionals and encourage co-operation amongst the team
• Establish and maintain effective communication with entire WARA staff, patients/clients, and visitors
• Ensure involvement of all staff in relevant discussions or developments that are responsive to the demands placed on the department
• Participate in all meetings involving the department
• Actively participate in the recruitment and retention of qualified nurses
• Develop and maintain continued personal and professional development to meet the changing demands in the area of nursing care
• Coordinate nursing staff performance appraisal within the department
• Be responsible for effective day-to-day management of the clinic

Before they are eligible for hired, interested applicants must meet requirements listed below;

Qualifications, Requirements and Skills:
· Degree in General Nursing
· Full registration with the Nurses and Midwifery Council
· Minimal of five (5) years’ work experience as senior nurse.
· Current BLS, ACLS or equivalent certification.
· Experience with accident and emergency healthcare.
· Knowledge of OSHA
· Good Admin skills to maintain organization of documentation of work
· Good nursing skills
· Excellent customer care skills
· Confidence and leadership in the clinic over all activities affecting patient care
