GES Announces New Modalities for Sharing Intervention Money To Teaching and Non Teaching Staff

PROPOSED MODALITIES FOR THE DISBURSEMENT OF STAFF INTERVENTION FOR 2023

5% of the total amount should go to management and should be disbursed in a ratio of 3:2:1 respectively for
Headmaster
Assistant Headmasters &Accountant
Senior Housemasters/Mistresses

TEACHING STAFF COMPONENT
These apply to both day and boarding schools.

70% of the total Amount in the case of Boarding Schools and 75% in the case of Day schools should go to all teaching staff including management who are teaching staff and should be disbursed as follows:

60% (of the 70% for the boarding and 75% for the day schools) should be shared across board ie equally, for all teaching staff,.

The remaining 40% (of the 70% and 75% for Boarding and day schools
respectively) should be shared in a ratio of 3:2:1 respectively for

Management staff
HODs, Guidance and counseling Coordinators, Dining Hall masters, Housemasters/Mistresses, Assistant Housemasters/Mistresses, Entertainment master, Health master and Chaplain.

NON TEACHING STAFF COMPONENT

25% of the total amount in the case of Boarding schools and 20% in the case of Day schools should go to non-teaching staff, including management members who are non teaching staff, and should be disbursed as follows:

60% (of the original 25% for boarding and 20% for day schools) should be shared across board, ie equally.

The remaining 40% should be shared in a ratio of 3: 2: 1 respectively for

The Accountant, the Domestic Bursar and the Storekeeper.

All cooks/pantry hands and other auxiliary kitchen staff, the Matrons, the Assistant Storekeepers and the Assistant Accountants/ Account Clerks

The other non-teaching staff.

ISSUES TO NOTE

The intervention money is for last academic year ie January, 2023 to December, 2023. By implication only staff who were in your school during this period qualify to benefit even if they are on transfer to other schools or are retired.
Following from 1 above, all new staff in your school, whether transferred in or newly recruited, are not qualified to benefit. Those who transferred in from other schools are to benefit in their previous schools.
