LOVE VS GENOTYPE: Which Is More Important In A Relationship?

LOVE VS GENOTYPE: Which Is More Important In A Relationship?

Love is a great thing, but raising a child who suffers from sickle cell disease can place a significant burden on your relationship as well as the child’s overall health and well-being. LOVE VS GENOTYPE: Which Is More Important In A Relationship?

It doesn’t matter how much you love your partner or how much your partner loves you; I completely realise that your intending partner means everything to you. However, if the two of you aren’t medically compatible, it’s best to let go of the relationship and use common sense in making any choice you end up making.

It is also recommended that you find out your partner’s genotype as early on in the relationship as possible, before it gets too difficult to be apart from them. Even while it is not appropriate to inquire about the genotype of someone you have just met, you should not be scared to bring up the topic as soon as feasible.

I’m not a trained medical professional, but based on research, the following is a list of people who are compatible for marriage according to their genotype. This list will help you determine who you should marry and who you should avoid marrying:

AA gets married to another AA. That is the combination that works the best. That way, you won’t have to worry about whether or not your future children will have compatible genotypes.

AA is going to marry AS. You will have children who have AA and AS, which is a desirable outcome. On the other hand, if you are unlucky, all the children may have AS, which restricts their choice of a romantic partner.

It is not advisable for AS and AS to get married because there is a strong possibility that SS will become the father of their child. LOVE VS GENOTYPE: Which Is More Important In A Relationship?

It is not a good idea for AS and SS to even consider getting married.

It is imperative that SS and SS do not get married because there is zero probability that neither of them will be able to avoid having a kid affected by sickle cell disease. A blood condition known as sickle cell anaemia can lead to significant organ damage as well as excruciating crises. People who have sickle cell disease are subject to a wide variety of disadvantages, including but not limited to life-threatening sickle cell crises, strokes, and weakened immune systems. In conclusion
Love alone is not enough to sustain a relationship if the partners’ genetic make-up is incompatible with one another. It will be to our advantage if we come to the realisation as soon as possible that not all bridges are meant to be crossed, and that not all risks are worthwhile to take. I pray that God gives us wisdom regarding this matter. Amen. LOVE VS GENOTYPE: Which Is More Important In A Relationship?
